Were here for you.

Thankfully, Facebook offers many options when seeking support. We developed this guide to show you all the ways to contact Facebook customer support.

What is Facebook support?

Facebook support helps you manage your Facebook account better. It aims to provide you with the best possible user experience by supplying helpful information, assistance, and guidance on topics like privacy and security, Marketplace, Groups, your business page, and many more.

Facebook support also offers other useful functions such as monitoring your account activity, getting assistance from experts, and generally getting the most out of Facebook.

7 ways to contact Facebook support

What methods of support does Facebook offer? We dig into these below.

TL;DR: Facebook does not offer phone support. You may find a couple of phone numbers floating around the web (spoiler alert: those are 650-543-4800 and 650-308-7300), but they wont be very helpful. Both lead to pre-recorded messages that encourage you to email or access the online Help Center.

The good news is that weve covered all the available options in this section. Read on!

1. Facebook Help Center support

If you arent sure how to use a feature on Facebook or want to report a bug or issue, the Fa is the place to go. The Facebook Help Center has answers to thousands of questions about everything from account security to account deletion and everything in between.

For example, if youre unable to log in or change your profile picture, you can learn how to resolve these issues by visiting the Account settings topic page.

2. Facebook Live Chat

Facebook Live Chat supports businesses that advertise on Facebook with one-on-one support through a live online chat window.

Advertisers can get answers to their Facebook advertising questions by clicking Get Help on the Facebook for Business website and chatting with a trained Ads Specialist.

To access the Facebook Live Chat feature, go to the official help page or click on the link below the chat button. Conversations will appear in your Messenger tab. At this time, Live Chat is only available for Facebook for Business users. However, Meta recently released a live chat option for Facebook users locked out of their accounts.

3. Meta for Business support

Visit the Meta Business Help Center if you have issues with your Facebook Ads. This knowledge base will help you resolve issues and answer questions like:

  • Troubleshooting ads
  • Creating and installing a Facebook pixel
  • Monetizing your content
  • Selling products on Facebook and Instagram
  • Why your ads are getting disapproved
  • Verifying your business a social media platform

Meta also offers Meta Blueprint, a collection of online courses, workshops, and certifications that users can take to learn new ways to leverage their Facebook Page for business growth. Courses include Promote Your Business From Your Facebook Page and Ad Policies for Content, Creative, and Targetingamong dozens of others.

4. Facebook email support

Facebook doesnt provide a standalone support email address. (Can you imagine how crazy that inbox would be?)

Instead, they offer nearly a dozen emails for users facing specific problems. Weve collected them below.

  • disabled@fb.com: This inbox is for recovering disabled or hacked accounts, resetting your password, and accessing a locked Page.
  • appeals@fb.com: This inbox is to receive help regarding your suspended account or to appeal blocked or removed content.
  • platformcs@support.facebook.com: This inbox is for contacting Facebook about any financial queries or concerns related to your account.
  • abuse@fb.com: This inbox is for reporting matters on Facebook that dont meet the Facebook Community Standards.
  • records@facebook.com or legal@fb.com: These inboxes are for reaching out to the Facebook Law Enforcement Support Team.
  • datarequests@fb.com: This inbox is for questions and issues concerning your data.
  • press@fb.com: This inbox is to contact Facebook concerning press services or other PR activities.
  • advertise@fb.com: This inbox is for general issues about Facebook Ads.
  • ip@fb.com: This inbox is to contact Facebook about matters related to intellectual property.
  • phish@fb.com: This inbox is to report particular Facebook messages or posts that may be phishing emails or spam.

5. Facebook official pages

Facebook utilizes its own productPagesto support other Facebook users and businesses. The below official Facebook Pages offer support on various topics and for various communities.

  • Facebook: The main Facebook Page.
  • Meta for Business: This Page provides information related to business. Check the forum or use the Live Chat.
  • Facebook and Privacy: Here you can find information and support concerning privacy issues.
  • Meta for Media: This Page will help you understand how public figures and media organizations use Facebook.

Benefits of self-service Facebook support

Why might someone want to access Facebooks self-service Help Centers instead of contacting Facebook support directly? Here are some benefits:

  • Its easy. The Facebook Help Center is designed to make finding information quickly and seamlessly. You can search topics by keyword or browse through categories and articles relevant to your issue or questionwithout having to wait for live support. Better yet, you learn new skills for the next time you encounter a similar issue.
  • Its reliable. Facebook updates its Help Center regularly with the latest content from Facebook and Meta experts, so you know that what youre reading is relevant and accurate.
  • You need help with a straightforward account issue. People often need help with simple problems, like struggling to log in, forgetting a password, or needing to change their profile or contact information. Self-service Facebook support is the best way to solve these issues.
  • Its accessible 24/7. As long as you have a Facebook account, you can access the Help Center information for free, anytime, without even logging into Facebook. The FAQ section is easily navigable through the Help Center.

How to Delete an Instagram Account (The Easy Way)

Decided Instagram isnt the best fit for your business? No sweat. Unlike real life, theres an undo button: you can delete your Instagram account permanently.

Before you delete, consider backing up your account data in case you need it. Be aware the data will be a computer-readable HTML or JSON format, not individual profile photos, videos, comments, etc.

Ready? Heres how to delete your Instagram account in the app, from a computer, or via mobile web browser.

How to delete an Instagram account on iOS

Step 1: Go to your account in the Instagram app. Then, tap the menu icon (3 lines) in the top right corner of the screen.

Step 2: Navigate to Settings, then Account.

Step 3: Tap Delete account.

Instagram will suggest deactivating instead of deleting. Deactivation hides your account and is reversible anytime. If you still want to permanently delete the Instagram account, go ahead and tap Delete account.

delete account instead of temporarily deactivating

Step 3: Confirm deletion.

Instagram will ask you AGAIN Youre sure about this, right?

continue deleting Instagram account

Step 4: Confirm again.

Instagram draws out the process, which you could argue is either annoying, or a good thing to prevent accidental deletions and angry users.

Instagram asks why you want to delete it. Your answer is mandatory and so is entering your password. Clicking the Delete @username button on this page will permanently delete your account.

Your account wont be visible on Instagram anymore but you have 30 days to reverse your decision and reactivate it. After that its real-real gone.

How to delete an Instagram account on Android

For whatever odd reason, the native Instagram app on Android currently doesnt allow you to delete an account like it does in the iPhone version. Its weird, but no sweat, just open up a browser and follow the directions below.

How to delete an Instagram account on your computer

If you dont have access to the app on your current phone or youre an Android user, you can also delete your Instagram account from any web browser.

The steps below also work for mobile browsers (e.g. Safari or Chrome on your phone).

Step 1: Go to www.instagram.com and sign into your account

Step 2: Visit the Delete Account page.

Step 3: Confirm deletion.

Ensure the username matches the account you want to delete. If not, click Log out on the right side of the screen to go back to Instagram and sign in to the correct account.

Fill out the reason for deleting your Instagram account and enter your password. Tapping Delete @username at the bottom will permanently delete your account.

When should you delete your Instagram account?

If you have any doubts at all about deleting your profile, you should temporarily deactivate your Instagram account instead. Deactivated accounts are easily recovered, whereas deleted ones are permanently removed from the platform (after the 30 day grace period).

For most people, Id recommend deactivation, even if you leave it that way for months or years. It accomplishes the same thing (no one can find or see your account) but without the risk of regret.

Another option is to switch to a private account. Private accounts still show up in search results but their posts dont, nor are they publicly viewable on your profile. People can request to follow you, but you dont have to approve them. Current followers will still be able to see your posts and content, though.

To change to a private account, go to Settings in the app, then Privacy and tap the slider next to Private account to the on position.

tap slider to change to private account

There are a few specific scenarios where deleting your Instagram account makes sense. (Although you could still choose to temporarily disable your account for these, too.)

Youre not sure if Instagram is paying off

Is Instagram helping you achieve your business goals? You set business goals for your Instagram account, right? And you measure them regularly, right?

Instagram may not be the best fit for you, but if youre unsure, its worth it to revise your Instagram marketing strategy first. Give it a fair shot to provide a positive ROI for you.

Use our free social media audit template to track progress and evaluate the results. If you still dont see results from Instagram for several quarters, its probably worth focusing more on other platforms.

Your target audience doesnt use Instagram

You can have the most bangin Reels, the best carousels, and the most interesting Stories, but if your target peeps arent seeing it? Oof, thats a lot of wasted effort for very little reward.

Social media platforms are only as effective as your marketing strategy. Is your target customer 70+ years old? Certainly some will be on Instagram, but its probably not where you should spend the bulk of your time or budget.

You have more than one account for your brand

Whoops, discovered that second account last years intern opened by mistake? Go ahead and delete it (unless it has, like, a bajillion followers).

Duplicate or erroneous accounts can confuse your audience, especially if your main profile doesnt have a blue check mark beside it to show its authenticity. People may end up following the wrong account. Eliminate confusion by deleting any unused profiles.

Managing Instagram is overwhelming

Gotcha! This is a trick reason. Overwhelm is real but its not a reason to delete your account.

Instead, save time, get organized, and get your Instagram marketing in gear with Hootsuite. Schedule and publish your contentyep, Reels, too! in advance, manage DMs from all your platforms from one inbox, and collaborate and approve draft content with your team.
